Hints and Tips 23 - How to stitch an opening for turning a project through

I had a request yesterday from a blog reader asking me the best place to turn the scissor holder project through that she she was sewing . I have been meaning to post this little tip when leaving an opening to turn a project through  for a few weeks but it keeps on slipping my mind.
When you need to leave an opening to turn the project through take some stitches out into the seam allowance at the beginning and ending of the opening as shown.

When you turn the project through, you do not have to fight with the seam allowances to get the seam to come together neatly to stitch it closed.

You can find the original folded scissor holder tutorial here
